Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst to join our Water Business Group. You will develop geospatial solutions for transportation projects, lead GIS tasks, and collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, and transportation planners to deliver maps, models, and web GIS applications.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of GIS experience, strong Esri software expertise, and a commitment to our employee-owned culture. Local candidates preferred in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or closely related field.
• Minimum 8 years of GIS experience; advanced degree may offset 4 years.
• Proficient with ArcGIS Desktop/Server/Online and extensions (3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst).
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 Apps.
• Experience with ETL tools (FME) and advanced tools (Arcade, notebooks).
• Experience with Esri Solutions and Products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to summarize analyses with visuals.
• Ability to lead GIS projects including approach, scheduling, QA.
• Continuous technical currency; commitment to employee-owned culture.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently organize and conduct large, advanced spatial analyses as project manager or GIS lead.
• Design GIS approaches with non-GIS managers for transportation projects.
• Provide GIS technical leadership to area team and power users.
• Lead project marketing, budget development, and resources scheduling.
• Prepare scope language and fee estimates for proposals.
• Develop QA plans for GIS tasks and oversee implementation.
• Supervise GIS work to ensure project completion.
• Develop vector and raster analysis models using Spatial ModelBuilder, Python, etc.
• Develop geodatabase schemas and analysis methods.
• Develop and support web GIS apps using Esri Experience Builder, Dashboards, Story Maps, Hub, Field Maps, Survey 123.
• Create maps, applications, databases and deliverables on short notice.
• Communicate and collaborate with diverse backgrounds.
• Perform other duties as needed.
