Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager/Engineer to lead field investigations, develop geotechnical design recommendations and reports, and manage cost estimates and plans for a range of projects from high-rises to highways.

You will direct subsurface explorations, supervise field programs, coordinate with clients and contractors, mentor junior staff, and ensure project scope, schedule, and budget compliance across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required.
• PE license in North Carolina or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience in a consulting setting.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software: GeoStudio, gINT, LPile, Slope/W, Slide, Settle3D.

Responsibilities

• Lead field investigations and manage geotechnical projects across Northern NC and surrounding regions.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, proposals, and technical deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout project lifecycle.
• Mentor and guide junior staff; review and provide feedback on technical work.
• Coordinate with field/lab technicians and use findings in reports.
• Ensure compliance with project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
