Job summary

Engineering Consulting Service in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead major infrastructure and transportation programs. You will balance technical design with high-level client management for DOT and other large-scale projects, directing CMT teams and overseeing field explorations.

You will develop geotechnical reports, manage budgets, and guide technical reviews while building regional relationships with DOTs and prime consultants to secure ECS as a preferred partner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• PE license required; PG license may be acceptable in some states.
• 5+ years in geotechnical/transportation with design, PM and leadership.
• Experience with DOT projects, GDM, AASHTO LRFD and geotechnical software.
• Proficient in MicroStation and leading technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary geotechnical and CMT projects for infrastructure.
• Direct embankment, foundation and subgrade design using CAD tools.
• Oversee field explorations: drilling, pits, inspections.
• Be main DOT liaison for project management and deadlines.
• Prepare geotechnical reports and design packages with seals.
• Manage budgets and resources for on-time delivery.
• Drive business development and proposal leadership.
• Maintain relationships with DOT, agencies and prime consultants.
• Ensure compliance with NCDOT, AASHTO and ASTM standards.
