Job summary

Terracon is seeking a senior geotechnical engineer in Washington to lead field investigations, analyses, and reporting for a broad range of projects. The role includes project management, coordinating design and construction phases, and ensuring high-quality deliverables across the Pacific Northwest.

The candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior staff, interacting with clients, and contributing to marketing and business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.
• Lead and/or supervise pre-task planning efforts.
• Provide continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
• Provide consistent quality standards per Terracon's quality manual on all proposals, projects, and deliverables.
• Manage detailed phases of projects with moderate size and complexity.
• Independently perform a variety of projects or segments of larger projects.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
• Work closely with senior-level project managers for more complex projects.
• Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations.
• Prepare proposals and reports for projects across WA State and the Pacific Northwest region.
• Perform quality control review of proposals written by others.
• Evaluate laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
• Serve as a technical adviser to junior staff.
• Interact with clients and project teams on scope, progress and findings.
• Write and prepare engineering reports detailing services, findings and recommendations.
• Participate in marketing, sales and business development.
• Supervise graduate, field and project engineering staff.

Education
