Alcoa’s Transformation group seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead impoundment planning and closure activities, ensuring adherence to GISTM and IMS while supporting site-specific risk reduction and cost estimation.

You will provide strategic geotechnical input for global closure standards, perform stability analyses, risk assessments, and oversee technical reviews across locations, with up to 15% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in geotechnical engineering, geology, civil engineering, or closely related field.
• Master’s degree preferred in geotechnical or geological engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead global closure strategies, policies, and cost estimates for tailings management.
• Perform geotechnical investigations, slope stability analyses, and consolidation modeling.
• Provide technical guidance for closure planning, maintenance, and monitoring of impoundments.
• Support IMS and GISTM compliance and drive continuous improvement across sites.
