Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager to lead geotechnical work from our Central Division Oklahoma location (Tulsa or Oklahoma City). The role focuses on coordinating client needs, managing project portfolios, and leading field activities with a multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have 9+ years of related experience, a PE license in Oklahoma (ability to license in other states), and strong communication skills to mentor staff and deliver complex

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years of related experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License in Oklahoma and ability to be licensed in multiple states.
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive work attitude and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate with clients to understand needs.
• Manage a portfolio of projects meeting safety, budget, quality, and schedule.
• Safely supervise field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support.
• Mentor and manage junior staff and project-level geotechnical professionals.
• Develop scopes for field and office tasks and independent analysis.
• Coordinate tasks on medium to large multi-disciplined projects with senior staff guidance.
• Prepare or review designs, reports, and calculations on complex projects.

Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager. The position will be based in Kleinfelder's Central Division Oklahoma location (Tulsa or Oklahoma City).

The ideal candidate will:

• Coordinate and communicate with internal or external clients to understand their needs
• Manage a portfolio of projects meeting client and company requirements for safety, budget, quality and schedule
• Safely supervise field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support.
• Mentor and manage junior staff and project level geotechnical professionals through project performance
• Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
• Coordinate tasks and manage medium to large multi-disciplined projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
• Prepare or review designs, reports and calculations on complex projects.

Strong analytical skills are required in areas including

• soil and rock classification
• slope stability analysis
• earth retention systems
• shallow and deep foundation design
• construction support
• soil improvement techniques
• materials testing knowledge

Education & Experience

• Minimum 9 years of related experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License in Oklahoma and ability to be licensed in multiple states
• Must have a positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Position will require the candidate to adhere to work assignments/schedules, be self-motivated, organized and have a keen sense of detail.

Candidate must be willing to work in addition to a standard 40-hour work week when needed.
