AWK Consulting Engineers, Inc. seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineering Professional for its Pittsburgh, PA and Harrisburg, PA offices. The role involves design and analysis of foundations, earth retaining systems, and slope stability, with oversight of geotechnical exploration and reporting.

The candidate should possess a B.S. in Civil/Geological Engineering (M.S. preferred) and PE certification, with 10–15 years of geotechnical experience and strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Geological Engineering (MS preferred).
• PE certification is required.
• 10-15 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with bridges, roads, retaining walls, slopes, embankments.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of shallow and deep foundation systems with bearing capacity and settlements.
• Design of earth retention systems (gravity walls, soldier beams, sheet piles).
• Conduct slope stability analysis using GSTABL and SLIDE.
• Lead geotechnical exploration and oversee drilling activities.
• Prepare and supervise geotechnical reports; strong writing and communication.
