Shannon & Wilson, an employee-owned geotechnical consulting firm, seeks a senior Geotechnical Engineer / Office Manager to run our Utah office. The role blends advanced engineering leadership with daily office operations, delivering geotechnical solutions and guiding multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 20+ years of geotechnical experience, a PE license, and proven ability to lead large infrastructure projects, manage client relationships, and support business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering; PhD preferred for highly technical roles.
• Professional Engineer license required; GE license preferred where applicable.
• 20+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Utah office operations and staff.
• Lead project technical delivery, peer reviews and deliverables.
• Guide proposal development including project scoping, fee estimating, and contract review.
• Manage client relationships and support business development.
• Ensure QA/QC and sign-off on geotechnical deliverables.
• Coordinate recruitment and staff development for geotechnical teams.
• Review procedures to ensure compliance with policies and performance measures.
