Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead technical execution and report production in its Orange, CA office. The role involves signing geotechnical reports, mentoring junior staff, and helping grow the California office while focusing on technical delivery for a diverse project portfolio.

You will coordinate with field and lab teams, review investigations, engage clients, and support business development. CA PE license and 6+ years' experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and approve geotechnical engineering reports.
• Sign and seal geotechnical reports as required.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and foundation recommendations.
• Coordinate with field and laboratory personnel throughout project execution.
• Review subsurface investigations, boring logs, laboratory data, and field observations.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule and budget expectations.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding project scope, findings, recommendations, and technical concerns.
• Participate in proposal preparation, project scoping, and fee development.
• Mentor junior engineers, EITs, technicians, and geologists.
• Support business development activities, client maintenance, and industry networking events.
• Work closely with Senior leadership to support continued growth of the Orange office.

Description

Seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join and help grow its Orange, CA office. This individual will serve as a technical leader responsible for geotechnical report preparation, technical review, client management, and project execution across a diverse portfolio of commercial, retail, hospitality, and development projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong geotechnical engineering experience, the ability to independently prepare and sign geotechnical reports, and a client-focused mindset. While leadership responsibilities are expected over time, the primary focus of this role is technical execution, report production, and supporting the continued growth of the California office. Peggy specifically noted they need "technical before management" and someone capable of immediately producing reports and keeping projects moving.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $170000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
