Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Infrastructure Market team in Springfield, IL. You will lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design recommendations for transportation, rail, water resources, and site development projects.

You will mentor staff, manage multiple projects, and help develop client relationships while delivering practical, cost-effective solutions. A PE license and geotechnical software expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.
• Active PE license, and ability to obtain licensure in additional states.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and quality control of complex geotechnical investigations.
• Serve as geotechnical technical lead for major projects (transportation, rail, water).
• Perform advanced analyses: foundation design, slope stability, settlements.
• Manage projects within budget and schedule, coordinating with teams.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development efforts.
