Job summary

Langan is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its collaborative team in Indianapolis, IN. This role involves preparing technical reports, specifications, and plans, and designing foundations and retaining walls as part of geotechnical construction efforts.

The candidate will contribute to field investigations, oversee subsurface investigations, and coordinate with project managers. Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• 3+ years of geotechnical field experience and investigations.
• FE/EIT certification preferred.
• Experience with field logs, reports, and specification writing.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design earth structures, deep foundations, support of excavation and underpinning systems.
• Assist project manager with field work coordination and project management support.
• Scope and oversee geotechnical investigations and construction projects, and inspect geotechnical construction as needed.
• Coordinate investigations and assist in geotechnical report writing.
• Prepare logs and forms, including drilling logs, field investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs.
• Fieldwork is required; and perform other duties as requested.
