Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a senior geotechnical engineer to lead excavation, foundation and geo-environmental design efforts in diverse projects. The role requires a PE license and substantial experience in civil/geotechnical engineering, with readiness to travel up to 40%.

You will review designs for compliance with regulations and mentor junior staff while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license required.
• 7 years of related experience. Travel may be required and is contingent on workload.

Responsibilities

• Design excavation, dewatering, shallow/deep foundations, dams/reservoirs/levees, geo-environmental projects.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.
• Mentor junior staff and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
• Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
