Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in Pleasanton, CA to conduct site investigations, analyze conditions, and provide design recommendations for foundations and slope stability. You will prepare technical reports and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, CA-PE licensure, and 5+ years of geotechnical experience; a MS in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred. On-site role with a strong benefits package and professional development support.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required; MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• Licensed PE in California required.
• 5+ years geotechnical engineering experience (consulting or construction-related encouraged).
• Geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, gINT is a plus.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling, logging, and laboratory testing.
• Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater conditions to provide recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and earthworks.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and construction recommendations.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental engineers.
• Oversee geotechnical aspects of construction, including inspections and field observations.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and project specifications.
• Mentor junior staff and maintain quality and safety standards.
