Job Description

RJH is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to work on challenging and diverse geological, geotechnical, and water resources projects within a collaborative team environment. This position is based in Denver, Colorado. RJH's geotechnical projects range from small explorations to large dam designs and constructions, with project costs from a few thousand dollars to over $200 million.

Geotechnical Engineer Requirements:

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Civil or Geological Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
• 4 to 15 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering for dams, levees, and water resource projects.
• Proficiency in slope stability, seepage, deformation, and geotechnical modeling and analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead junior engineers in field investigations, analyses, and report preparation.
• Capability to develop designs, drawings, and specifications for dams, reservoirs, and heavy civil projects.
• Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.

Job Responsibilities:

Development and supervision of geotechnical field investigations, calculations, civil design for dams and water projects, and report writing. Analyses include static and dynamic stability, seepage, deformation, and field/laboratory data evaluation. Additional duties involve preparing design drawings, specifications, supervising cost estimates, and construction administration. Willingness to travel for temporary assignments is required.
