WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Geotechnical and Tunneling Team!
This position can be based out of the following WSP offices:
- Boston, MA
- North Providence, RI
- Glastonbury, CT
- Worcester, MA
- Shelton, CT
- Merrimack, NH
- Other WSP offices throughout New England can be considered.
Job Duties
- Perform and coordinate field observation and special inspection of subsurface investigations in soils and rock.
- Perform geotechnical engineering design and analyses for bridges, buildings, tunnels, underground structures, and retaining walls under minimal supervision of senior engineers.
- Prepare and draft geotechnical memoranda, data reports, and design reports.
- Perform and coordinate field observation and special inspection of geotechnical construction.
- Assist task leaders in the preparation of reports and contract documents.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and project partners.
- Assist in developing and coordinating geotechnical work in New England and other areas.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources such as soil/water/rock samples, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and more for project development, design, and construction.
- Maintain quality control standards and procedures for measurements, data analysis, and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and discipline-specific design software.
- Flexibility to work various schedules and adapt quickly.
- Willingness to travel and perform fieldwork.
- Successful completion of WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
- Adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
