Job summary

Core4ce is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer to build and optimize software for complex scientific and geospatial applications. You will refine MATLAB and Python code for efficiency, while ensuring scientific validity for GIS outputs, and deploy within AWS.

The role involves collaborating with scientists, GIS specialists, and cloud engineers to transform research capabilities into scalable, deployable software in AWS. Advanced ArcGIS knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 13 years of experience, or Bachelor’s with 15 years of experience.
• Active TS-SCI clearance with ability to obtain a CI Poly.
• Experience across full application stack including databases, APIs, and web apps.
• Demonstrated geospatial software experience with ESRI/ArcGIS technologies.
• Deep ESRI data structures knowledge with ArcGIS Pro and ESRI C# bindings.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, OpenLayers, QGIS, and GeoServer.
• Experience optimizing MATLAB and/or Python scientific code for performance.
• Experience with Docker, AWS, and cloud deployment.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop features and infrastructure across database, API, and web tiers.
• Optimize MATLAB/Python scientific code for performance and accuracy.
• Develop and deploy geospatial applications using PostgreSQL/PostGIS, OpenLayers, QGIS, GeoServer.
• Work with ESRI data structures and ArcGIS Pro bindings for integration.
• Support ESRI cloud and web-based applications in AWS.
• Ensure software quality through testing, verification, and validation.
• Build and deploy containerized apps with Docker and AWS.
• Follow Agile development processes and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with scientists, GIS specialists, and cloud engineers to deploy operational software.
