Job summary

GRVTY seeks a cleared geospatial technologist to bridge two mission offices focused on geospatial data curation, ArcGIS Portal products, and operational visualization. You’ll be a hybrid of geospatial programmer, data librarian, and visualization developer using Python and Tableau.

You will publish large geospatial and tabular datasets, manage ArcGIS Portal content, and build dashboards, web maps, and analytics that help mission users make informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, CS, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of geospatial technology, software development, data engineering, or related field.
• Strong Python experience for geospatial data processing and automation.
• Hands-on ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal/Online experience including hosted layers & dashboards.
• Experience building dashboards and BI reports in Tableau or equivalent.
• Knowledge of geospatial data formats, projections, and spatial joins.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS for spatial data storage and queries.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently across two office environments with cross-team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Partner with mission users to understand geospatial data needs and workflows.
• Ingest, clean, transform, and publish large geospatial and tabular datasets.
• Develop Python tools to automate geospatial processing and publication workflows.
• Manage and update ArcGIS Portal content (hosted layers, maps, dashboards).
• Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and analytic visualizations for stakeholders.
• Apply cartographic best practices to improve usability of geospatial products.
• Integrate diverse datasets into cohesive analytical environments.
• Support data library functions, metadata, versioning, and quality control.
• Create documentation, data dictionaries, and SOPs for repeatable workflows.
• Collaborate across two offices and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
