Job summary

Closure Technologies, LLC seeks a Geospatial Data Systems Engineer in McLean, VA to design, implement, and manage geospatial data pipelines and BI dashboards. You will work with mission stakeholders to publish geospatial content via ArcGIS and create Tableau visualizations that support decision-making.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, 8+ years in geospatial tech, and strong Python, ArcGIS, and PostgreSQL expertise. On-site collaboration across offices is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in geospatial tech, data engineering, or related field.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
• Strong Python experience for geospatial data processing, automation, and workflows.
• Experience with large geospatial datasets: cleaning, joining, enriching, preparing data for analysis/publication.
• Hands-on with ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal/Online: publishing hosting, dashboards, geospatial content.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, or visualizations in Tableau or similar BI tools.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Understanding of geospatial formats, projections, and spatial joins.
• Excellent communication and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with mission users to understand geospatial data needs and workflows.
• Identify, acquire, clean, transform, and publish large geospatial datasets.
• Develop Python scripts to automate processing and publication workflows.
• Manage ArcGIS Portal content including hosted layers, maps, dashboards, and data hubs.
• Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and analytic visualizations for stakeholders.
• Apply cartographic design and metadata practices to geospatial products.
• Integrate diverse datasets into cohesive analysis environments.
• Maintain data catalog, metadata, and data quality across lifecycles.
• Develop documentation and SOPs for repeatable workflows.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
