Job summary

DOWL's Geosciences team seeks a Senior Geophysicist 1 to perform near-surface geophysics on civil engineering projects, including seismic refraction, MASW, and electrical resistivity testing. You will plan data collection, analyze results, and mentor others while supporting project objectives.

Travel to field sites, manage budgets/schedules, and lead technical client meetings are expected. A Bachelor's degree, 15 years of experience, PE license, and related certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 15 years of experience in geophysics or related fields.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
• PGL/CPG certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead near-surface geophysics testing and interpretation.
• Prepare technical reports and memos.
• Mentor junior team members and lead project teams.
• Engage with clients and manage project interviews.
• Travel to field sites, including rural/remote areas, as needed.
• Ensure compliance with ASCE 7, AASHTO, IBC, local codes.
