Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geologist for a mining client in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on resource evaluation, geological modelling, and supporting mine planning and feasibility studies.

Extensive experience with 3D modelling software and resource classification standards is required. The ideal candidate will lead data collection, interpret geological information, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with engineers and geophysicists to drive exploration and development

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or related Earth Science discipline.
Minimum 7 years of relevant mineral exploration and resource geology experience.
Experience with 3D geological modelling software (Leapfrog Geo, Vulcan, Surpac, MinePlan).
Proven ability to perform mineral resource estimations and write compliant technical reports.

Responsibilities

Lead geological data collection, interpretation, and analysis for resource evaluation projects.
Develop and refine 3D geological models using drill hole, assay and other data.
Perform mineral resource estimations in line with industry standards (JORC/SAMREC).
Collaborate with mine planning engineers, geophysicists, and other specialists.
Prepare geological reports, presentations and documentation for stakeholders.
Supervise and mentor junior geologists and technicians.
Ensure quality and integrity of geological data, databases and reporting systems.
Contribute to strategic exploration and resource development planning.
