Job summary

Riverside Research seeks an experienced Exploitation Scientist / Data Scientist to lead GEOINT exploitation capabilities in Falls Church VA. You will guide multi-sensor workflows, develop analytic methods, mentor staff, and collaborate with government partners to enhance DoD and IC missions.

The role combines sensor phenomenology, data science, and exploitation tradecraft, with responsibilities spanning data pipelines, AI/ML integration, and technical briefings for senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Remote Sensing, Image Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of GEOINT exploitation, analytic modeling, or related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar analytical languages.
• Experience developing ML and statistical models for imagery exploitation.
• Hands-on with EO/GEOINT tools: ENVI/IDL, ArcGIS, ERDAS, GDAL.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams.
• Strong understanding of DoD/IC data standards and production workflows.
• Active TS or higher security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-sensor exploitation efforts across EO, IR, SAR, multispectral, and specialized collections.
• Develop advanced analytic algorithms and models for detection, classification, change analysis, and data fusion.
• Apply data science methodologies, including statistical modeling and ML, to improve exploitation accuracy.
• Conduct advanced image science analyses and sensor performance evaluations.
• Design and refine data processing workflows with reproducibility and governance.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into exploitation pipelines with partners.
• Prepare and deliver technical briefings, reports, and demonstrations to senior customers.
• Lead development of SOPs, analytic standards, and documentation.
• Provide mentorship to analysts and junior personnel.
• Coordinate with collection managers and system developers to optimize strategies.
• Ensure timely delivery of GEOINT products for decision-making.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
