Job summary

Riverside Research Institute in Falls Church, VA, seeks an experienced Exploitation Scientist / Data Scientist to lead GEOINT exploitation capabilities. You will guide multi-sensor workflows, design analytic methods, and mentor junior staff to deliver advanced intelligence products.

The role requires DoD/IC data standards expertise, ML model development, and proficiency with EO/GEOINT tools; candidates must hold an active TS clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Remote Sensing, Image Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of GEOINT exploitation, analytic modeling, image science, or related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar analytical languages.
• Experience building ML/statistical models for imagery workflows.
• Hands-on with EO/GEOINT tools (ENVI/IDL, ArcGIS, ERDAS, GDAL).
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and guide analytic development.
• Deep understanding of DoD/IC data standards and production workflows.
• Active TS or higher security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-sensor exploitation across EO, IR, SAR, multispectral, and specialized collections.
• Develop advanced analytic algorithms and models for detection, classification, and data fusion.
• Apply data science methodologies to improve exploitation accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct image science analyses and sensor performance evaluations.
• Design and refine data processing workflows with reproducibility and governance.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into exploitation pipelines with partners.
