Job summary

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is seeking a Sr. Project Manager-Genset in Plano, TX.

This hybrid role oversees North American gas engine generator set projects from order intake to handover, coordinating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to meet cost, schedule and quality targets. The ideal candidate has at least nine years in project management or related technical execution, with six years in genset or power-generation projects, and strong regulatory and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related engineering degree.
• Nine years of project management or related technical project execution experience.
• At least six years in gas engine generator sets, engine packaging, power generation, or related mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing customer-facing projects from order intake through engineering, manufacturing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Ability to read and interpret customer specifications, contracts, GA drawings, P&IDs, electrical drawings, control narratives, sequence of operations, submittals, technical specifications, and installation manuals.
• Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Asana, Smartsheet, or similar).
• Proficiency with MS Office, Google Workspace, or similar tools.
• Experience in multi-supplier or system integration project environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end execution of gas engine set projects in North America.
• Serve as the primary project interface with customers, consultants, general contractors, EPC contractors, MEP contractors, and internal teams.
• Lead regular project meetings, report project status, escalate critical issues, and drive timely decision-making.
• Ensure customer satisfaction, schedule adherence, quality performance, and successful handover to service and aftermarket teams.
• Maintain and drive project governance: execution plan, cost, schedule, action items, risk register, issue log, change log, communication plan, and decision log.
