Job summary

Mainspring Energy, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform and oversee planned and reactive service operations on our generators in a defined region, traveling to customer sites to maintain uptime and performance. Training occurs at headquarters in Menlo Park, CA, with assignment to a service region requiring travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with mechanical assembly and/or repair. Experience with automotive, aviation, and/or heavy equipment assembly a plus.
• Experience with precision measuring, down to .001”, using micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, etc. Also, familiarity with torque wrenches and documentation of repairs performed
• Candidates must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift to 50 lbs., and wear required PPE
• Must have knowledge of how to use and maintain basic tools, such as torque wrenches and torque specifications
• Must have experience with following written and verbal work instructions while on-site

Responsibilities

• Mechanically repair and/or perform maintenance on components and assemblies that make up our generators in accordance with procedures and build checklists in order to meet customer requirements
• Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components and assemblies
• Conduct mechanical inspections of deployed units, documenting condition information for use by our team for debugging or troubleshooting
• Be available to work rotational on-call shifts, as per the written schedule, to provide optimal service and support for our customers
