Job summary

PCL Industrial Construction Co. in Houston, Texas, seeks a General Superintendent to lead field teams and coordinate complex construction activities. You will work closely with project stakeholders to deliver exceptional results while upholding safety, quality, and employee ownership.

You will guide development of the Project Execution Plan, manage work plans, and drive cost control across multiple projects, ensuring strong client relations and leadership within the district.

Qualifications

• Journeyman certificate or postsecondary diploma / engineering degree in a related discipline.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in field supervision preferred.
• 2 years as a general superintendent with demonstrated leadership on projects preferred.
• Expert knowledge of construction industry operations, materials, specs and methods.
• Ability to lead and coordinate multiple scopes and teams.
• Strong contract language understanding and risk mitigation ability.
• Demonstrated safety culture leadership and environmental awareness.

Responsibilities

• Influences and conveys project vision; directs critical path scheduling and constructability improvements across multiple projects.
• Collaborates with the project management team to develop and implement the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
• Oversees development and execution of work plans and reviews complex scopes.
• Ensures prompt scheduling, coordination, and cost control for labor, equipment, and materials.
• Provides expertise on equipment selection and construction methods (formwork, cranes, etc.).
• Ensures contract/subcontract awareness and risk mitigation planning.
• Participates in business development through client relations and bid presentations.
• Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with key stakeholders.
