Qualifications

Overview
  • Maintains and repairs vehicles, watercraft, motorized equipment and other related equipment and assemblies.
  • Provides technical advice, guidance, instructions, and training to shop personnel.
  • Designs and fabricates specialty parts and related assemblies.
  • Assigns daily work per scheduling and priorities established by supervision.
  • Provides technicaloversight for new equipment installations, modifications, and fabrication projects.
  • Monitors shop activities to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulatory guidance.
  • Monitors equipment performance and identifies failures and trends related to equipment performance or maintenance procedures.
  • Familiar with the operation of all shop equipment and processes such that hazards and mitigation factors can be appropriately identified and briefed to other shop personnel.
  • Must perform all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in Procedure 1-3100 and adhere to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities & Other Requirements
  • Reading, writing, and basic math skills with additional related technicaltraining.
  • Ten years of experience performing vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, modification, and repair, including electronics and engine work on automotive gas and diesel vehicles, boats, small engines, and other mobile equipment or combination of three years of experience in at least two skilled trades including carpentry, electrical, painting, fabrication and electrical repairs or installations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CommercialDriver's License.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain DOE "L" security clearance.

    Interview Process and Length:

    The interview will consist of a panel interview and last approximately 45 minutes.

    Selection and Notification:
