Wilson Elser is seeking a Senior General Liability Attorney for our Chicago, IL office. The ideal candidate will handle general insurance defense matters including transportation, premises, construction, products, and general liability with trial experience.

The role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and a competitive compensation package. Candidates should have 15+ years of general casualty litigation, Illinois admission, and strong advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Illinois bar admission required.
• 15+ years of general casualty litigation experience.
• First and/or second chair experience strongly desired.
• Trial experience required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a litigation caseload, overseeing cases from start to finish.
• Actively participate in trials, including preparation and courtroom appearances.
• Conduct legal research.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients with strong advocacy.
• Collaborate across departments and offices to support a cohesive team.
• Draft case analysis reports for clients to guide proactive resolution strategies.
