Job summary

Applied Research Solutions seeks a full-time General/Interdisciplinary Engineer for a position located at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX. The role involves leading systems engineering activities, performing program reviews, and providing engineering support across lifecycle stages.

The candidate should have a minimum of 5+ years in a technical engineering role, US citizenship, and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a technical engineering role.
• Ability to integrate with other organizations/teams.
• Ability to develop a highly effective working relationship with the customer.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience implementing, troubleshooting and supporting Unix/Linux operating systems and web servers.
• Experience working with agile methodology.
• Knowledge in multiple programming languages.
• Experience scripting, writing, and modifying code to improve monitoring/deployment is a plus.
• Excellent customer service, leadership, communication, and interface skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes.
• Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results.
• Prepare technical documents defining system/subsystem characteristics and prepare management reports and presentations.
• Perform validation of systems, including criteria and procedures development; analyze results of major engineering systems.
• Provide system/program engineering, technical support and training for acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, evolution, deployment and operations.
• Provide inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force SEAM processes.
• Implement Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across lifecycle.
