Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Lead AI Engineer (GenAI Platform Services) in Richmond, VA and other locations to help build responsible AI systems for real-time customer experiences.

You will partner with engineers, researchers, and product managers to design, deploy, and optimize AI software components including LLM inference, foundation models, and vector databases. Proficiency in Python and at least one of Java/Scala is required, with cloud deployment experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/AI/EE/CE with AI/ML experience.
• 6+ years coding in Python/Go/Scala/Java for AI/ML.
• Experience deploying scalable AI on cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch.
• Invent LLM optimization techniques for performance, cost, latency, and throughput.
• Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap of AI systems at Capital One.
