Job summary

Guidewire Software seeks a Senior ML Engineer, GenAI, to lead end-to-end GenAI and LLM initiatives, shaping data pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and flagship features. You will drive design decisions, mentor peers, and deliver production-grade AI across our P&C insurance platform.

You will partner with product strategy and engineering teams to align capabilities with roadmaps, ensure security, and optimize performance, cost, and reliability in a scalable cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Machine Learning or Data Science with end-to-end production ML delivery.
• Strong Python and scalable ML/LLM service development, ideally on AWS (S3, EC2, RDS, SageMaker).
• Experience with ML Ops: CI/CD, experiment tracking, model registries, drift detection.
• Hands-on with classical/gradient-boosting models (GLM, Random Forest, XGBoost).
• Understanding of neural networks/transformers for LLMs, fine-tuning and inference.
• Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases for semantic search.
• Experience evaluating and monitoring LLM performance with NLP metrics; focus on safety and UX.
• Demonstrated technical leadership; mentoring and code/architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and evolution of GenAI/LLM products and pipelines on AWS.
• Architect robust ML/LLM pipelines powering high-impact use cases across the product portfolio.
• Develop and optimize LLM solutions using prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, and fine-tuning.
• Collaborate with Product Strategy and cross-functional teams to align GenAI capabilities with roadmaps and goals.
• Establish ML Ops best practices for CI/CD, experimentation, observability, and responsible AI.
• Mentor engineers and data scientists; conduct code and design reviews.
• Partner with Security, Finance, BizTech, and GTM to ensure governance and security controls.
• Contribute to Guidewire's mission to transform P&C insurers with cloud and AI.
