Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 5 to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team in San Jose. You will design and implement AI systems, including foundation model training, LLM inference, and multi-agent workflows, leveraging a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.

You will influence the long-term AI roadmap and governance, while mentoring senior engineers. The role requires deep technical expertise and a track record of delivering scalable AI solutions on cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/AI/EE/CE or related field with significant AI/ML experience.
• Must have 6+ years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms or technologies.
• 6+ years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS, Huggingface, VectorDBs, PyTorch).
• Invent foundation model optimization techniques to improve performance and cost.
