Job summary

Photon is seeking a seasoned Senior GCP Platform Engineer to own the design, deployment, and governance of our cloud platform on GCP. You will collaborate with developers, operations, and security to deliver robust, scalable services on GKE, with IaC and automated monitoring.

Responsibilities include leading infrastructure initiatives, mentoring engineers, and driving cost-efficient, secure hardening across the stack while documenting standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years focused on GCP.
• Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale cloud infrastructure on GCP.
• Strong experience with container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE).
• In-depth knowledge of GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Monitoring, and IAM.
• Proficiency with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with infrastructure security best practices and security automation on GCP.
• Bonus: Certifications in GCP technologies (e.g., GCP Certified Professional Cloud Architect).
