Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Senior GCP Data Architect to lead the design and modernization of enterprise-scale data platforms. You will define architecture strategy, establish scalable data solutions, and partner with engineering and business teams to enable advanced analytics, AI/ML, and cloud transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), modern data architectures, and large-scale data modernization programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture or related fields.
• Extensive experience designing large-scale cloud data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong expertise in BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Composer (Airflow).
• Experience with modern data processing frameworks including Spark and Kafka.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, data integration, data quality, and data governance.
• Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant, cloud-native data solutions.
• Expertise with data architectures including data lakes, lakehouses, and enterprise data warehouses.
• Experience with batch, streaming, and Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to influence technical strategy.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead end-to-end cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Assess existing data ecosystems and develop modernization roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Design scalable data platforms, integration patterns, and data models that support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives.
• Establish architecture standards, governance practices, and reusable design patterns for engineering teams.
• Lead the design of batch, streaming, and real-time data processing solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product leaders, architects, and engineers to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for strategic data initiatives.
• Drive adoption of modern architecture approaches including Data Mesh, Data Products, and event-driven architectures.
