Job summary

Steampunk is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead GCP-focused design and implementation for mission-critical workloads. You will shape architecture standards, govern landing zones, and drive enterprise cloud deployment while ensuring security compliance.

This role requires deep hands-on GCP knowledge, experience with Terraform/Terragrunt, CI/CD automation, and collaboration with development teams to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in IT and 8+ years architecting cloud solutions.
• 8+ years of experience with cloud architecture on GCP.
• 8+ years in Agile software development environments.
• 5+ years implementing POC/MVPs and sprint demos.
• Experience with IaC and DevSecOps tooling.
• Hands-on GCP services knowledge and security frameworks (NIST 800-53/FedRAMP/FISMA).

Responsibilities

• Identify optimal GCP-based solutions for customers.
• Design GCP environments for production, staging, QA, and development with 24x7 operations.
• Own Landing Zone architectures, Terraform foundations, and organizational policies.
• Design hybrid connectivity and DNS architectures.
• Implement and oversee cloud strategies including migrations and optimization.
• Develop automation tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure compliant, scalable deployments.
• Provide technical mentorship and drive continuous improvement.
