Job summary

Synechron is looking for a seasoned GCP Cloud Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions for financial services clients. You will lead architectural reviews, guide engineering teams, and ensure secure, scalable Google Cloud deployments.

The role requires deep Google Cloud knowledge, strong communication, and a proactive mindset to stay ahead of evolving cloud technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of overall professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and solution design, with a focus on Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of Google Cloud services and modern architecture best-practice (e.g. event-based, serverless).
• Demonstrable experience designing and building foundational Landing Zone services and integrations
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficient in scripting and infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, Python, Infrastructure Manager).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of Networking and IAM
• ITSM practices familiarity
• Excellent communication skills to document and present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to break down requirements into actionable tasks and communicate these to stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive and adaptable mindset for a dynamic environment.
• Experience with other Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, OCI) is advantageous.
• Experience in financial services or regulated industries is desirable.
• Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect
• Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions on Google Cloud.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
• Lead architectural reviews and provide direction to development teams.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams and deployment plans.
• Evaluate and optimize cloud infrastructures for cost and performance.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and redundancy planning.
• Ensure security compliance with industry standards and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Engineering, DevOps, and Operations.
• Stay updated on latest Google Cloud developments and best practices.
