Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is building a global cellular broadband network in space to operate with standard mobile devices. They seek a Principal Infrastructure and Deployment Engineer to define and document gateway infrastructure across SKUs, including power, cooling, racks, antennas, foundations, and room layouts for scalable deployment.

The role requires 5+ years in telecom-grade facility deployments, ground station or data center design experience, wind-load calculations, and SKU documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience for telecom-grade or mission-critical deployments.
• Experience with ground station, data center, or comparable facility design.
• Knowledge of power and AC/cooling dimensioning and foundation design.
• Experience documenting product SKUs and deployment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define, lifecycle-manage, and document infrastructure requirements for each Gateway SKU (power, cooling, racks, antennas, foundations, MDF/IDF layouts).
• Collaborate with Gateway specialists to ensure proper dimensioning for each Gateway type.
• Own end-to-end SKU documentation for each Gateway type.
• Collaborate with Commercial team to productize the Gateway.
• Review variances with Service Delivery and customers to align infrastructure requirements.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation as Gateway types evolve.
