Job summary

Peoples Gas System is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead engineering and construction projects in the Florida region, including Jacksonville. The role requires an ABET/regionally accredited engineering or related degree and at least eight years of experience in major construction activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an ABET/regionally accredited institution in Engineering, Construction, Business or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in major construction activities or equivalent combination of experience and education with a focus on engineering, scheduling, budgeting and contract claims negotiations.
• Strong understanding of natural gas transmission and distribution systems engineering, design and construction; ability to lead and motivate team members; strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction and contribute to planning, engineering, procurement and start-up of multiple capital projects. Drive project execution across scope, cost, time, risk, quality, procurement and human resources.
• Understand and develop business cases, contribute to alternative solutions and ensure documentation in project authorization documents (AFE, Work Orders).
• Develop project execution plans and ensure adherence to project plans, update plans as conditions change and manage change control and resource forecasts.
• Coordinate operations personnel and multi-discipline engineers and contractors to support project goals.
• Communicate project status to management and stakeholders, including cost, schedule, status and critical items.
