Job summary

LaBella Associates seeks Senior Gas Project Engineer(s) for our gas group in the Northeast. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil/Mechanical Engineering is required, with PE license preferred and 10+ years of natural gas experience.

You will lead project design, field investigations, and regulatory compliance, coordinating with clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities include engineering calculations, basemap creation in AutoCAD, cost estimation, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience in Natural Gas (Transmission/Distribution preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary field work (approx. 5–10% of time) and coordinate with project stakeholders.
• Produce basemaps and construction drawings for review using AutoCAD.
• Develop energization/de-energization procedures and O&M manuals.
• Estimate contractor/construction costs and perform risk assessments.
• Ensure CFR 192/193 compliance and manage field inspections and data entry into SAP/Maximo.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering

Masters degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering
