Job summary

The Walt Disney Company seeks a highly analytical Games Principal Data Scientist to drive advanced analytics, experimentation, and data insights across Disney Games & Digital Entertainment, in partnership with Epic Games for a major Fortnite-related initiative.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative product analytics in gaming, streaming, or entertainment industries.
• Proficient in SQL and Python or R; experience with cloud data ecosystems and analytics platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Tableau, and Looker.
• Experience analyzing large-scale event streams and telemetry datasets for player behavior, engagement, retention, and monetization.
• Familiarity with audience segmentation, personalization strategies, recommendations, or content optimization frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary games data science lead for Disney Digital Entertainment and be the central source of truth for product performance and insights.
• Partner with leadership and cross-enterprise teams to deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations informing business and product decisions.
• Develop data-driven analyses for senior leadership and present clear narratives and recommendations at the executive level.
• Develop and apply analytical frameworks, forecasting models, and behavioral segmentation focused on engagement and monetization.
• Analyze gameplay telemetry, social data, and content trends to identify growth opportunities and optimize user experiences.
• Define KPIs, measurement frameworks, instrumentation requirements, and scalable analytics solutions for product development.
