Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) is seeking an FX Risk Manager in New York to provide independent risk oversight of the FX trading desk and related activities. The role partners with Treasury, Compliance, and other control functions to ensure adherence to risk appetite and regulatory constraints.

The ideal candidate has deep FX markets knowledge, risk measurement expertise, and the ability to lead a risk analytics team, while communicating complex concepts to senior executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or related quantitative discipline; advanced degree desirable.
• 10–15+ years of relevant experience in financial markets, market risk, trading, quantitative risk, or closely related discipline.
• Experience in a front office risk or control function within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent risk oversight of the FX trading desk.
• Establish, maintain, and evolve techniques and risk methodologies to measure market and volatility risk.
• Build and maintain a team of risk professionals capable of operating independently from the business in analysis and data gathering.
• Assess the impact of major market events, including currency shocks and regulatory changes.
• Oversee the preparation of risk reporting and analysis for executive oversight.
• Provide technical expertise to develop efficient approaches to daily risk oversight for BBH’s FX business.
• Serve as a senior point of contact between the FX department and Treasury, Credit Risk, Operations, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Model Risk.
• Establish, maintain, and enhance P&L analytical tools.
• Help determine actions to resolve risk events within FX or Markets.
• Assess risks associated with new FX products and services.
