Job summary

Inertia Enterprises seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead fusion engine design and analysis, supporting critical components of our integrated fusion power plant at Livermore, CA. You will drive CAD design, 3D modeling, and thermal-structural analyses under challenging x-ray, neutron, and thermal conditions.

The role requires 7+ years in mechanical design and analysis, expertise in FEA (AN SYS / Abaqus), and strong CAD skills, with collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical design and analysis experience.
• Experience with structural materials and high-temperature services.
• Familiarity with ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead design reviews and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of fusion engine components and structures.
• Develop 3D CAD models of chamber, first wall, blanket, piping.
• Perform thermal-structural analyses for steady-state and transients.
• Evaluate irradiation effects and material models in analyses.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in design reviews.
