Job summary

Natixis seeks a VP or Director level Credit Officer to join the Funds Risk & Credit Markets team in New York. The role focuses on detailed credit risk assessments for funds, including hedge funds and private equity funds, with emphasis on risk opinions and defense of credit terms.

The successful candidate will conduct due diligence, present analyses to Credit Committee, and stay informed on industry and regulatory developments impacting the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of credit experience with direct fund analysis (HF, PE, Private Credit, FoF).
• Familiarity with ISDA/CSA, MRA/GMRA, MSLA and prime brokerage documentation preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed credit risk assessments and prepare written risk opinions.
• Perform due diligence calls or visits; represent the bank with clients.
• Articulate a persuasive risk opinion to senior management and committees.
• Collaborate with sales and business teams; translate credit view into enforceable terms.
• Negotiate credit terms and triggers in trading and financing documents; understand recoveries and exposures.
• Monitor macro factors and regulatory environment affecting the portfolio.
