Job summary

Wellington Management, a leading investment firm, seeks a Senior Fund Controller to oversee fund accounting, valuation, and control across a range of funds. You will partner with technology, auditors, and service providers to drive accuracy, governance, and scalable processes.

The role combines accounting expertise with data-driven operations, risk management, and continuous improvement in a hybrid work environment with strong client focus and collaboration across the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, information systems, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, or fund operations.
• Baseline knowledge of mutual funds, collective investment trusts, hedge funds, interval funds, and alternative investments.
• Understanding of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
• Baseline understanding of accounting for fixed income and common stock.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Progress toward MBA, CFA, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting activities and third-party administrators.
• Review trial balances, accruals, receivables, payables, and valuations.
• Identify and resolve accounting exceptions with limited supervision.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools for transparency.
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
• Lead automation and process-improvement initiatives.
