Northern Trust is seeking a Sr. Consultant in Fund Accounting in Chicago. The role supports development and execution of fund accounting initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve operations and drive measurable results.

The candidate will analyze data, risk, and controls, lead smaller projects, and mentor peers while ensuring compliance with policies and delivering quality outcomes. Hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in fund accounting or a related function.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute fund accounting work aligned to team priorities.
• Develop and enhance fund accounting processes and controls.
• Analyze accounting data, cash activity, and investment records to identify trends and risks.
• Resolve complex fund accounting issues with sound judgment.
• Monitor progress of deliverables and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure timely, accurate fund accounting outputs and compliance with policies.
• Create or improve documentation, tools, templates, and resources.
• Collaborate across fund accounting, operations, client service, and technology teams.
• Lead smaller fund accounting projects and mentor junior staff.
• Share knowledge and support onboarding and skill development.
