Job summary

Brookfield Real Estate Group in New York is seeking a motivated fund accounting professional to join the Finance and Operations team. This role goes beyond standard accounting, with extensive involvement in fund operations and investor reporting.

Responsibilities include monthly closings, US GAAP financial statements for investment companies, liaising with Big 4 auditors, and detailed data analysis across multiple funds. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years’ experience and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience, preferably with a CPA.
  • Fund administration, accounting or audit experience with private fund real estate or real estate credit is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, can work effectively with all levels and departments within a complex organization.
  • Experience with Investran is a plus.

  • Coordinate with banks for foreign currency exchange and derivative transactions.
  • Prepare investor reports, capital call and distribution notices.
  • Maintain investor commitments and capital account statements.
  • Assist and coordinate with other departments in responding to inquiries from investors.
  • Calculate management fee and carried interest in accordance with funds' legal documents.
  • Assist with providing financial information needed for compliance and regulatory filings.

Job Description

Initial Responsibilities

  • Support marketing team with data collection and ad‑hoc requests
  • Assist and coordinate with other departments in responding to inquiries from investors
  • Calculate management fee and carried interest in accordance with funds legal documents
  • Assist with providing financial information needed for compliance and regulatory filings
Requirements

This position offers excellent opportunities in a dynamic environment. To qualify, candidates must have:

Salary Range

$115,000 – $135,000

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short‑term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
