Job description
About Pika Earth, Inc.

Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of high-efficiency appliances (HVAC, plumbing etc.) in homes and businesses, partnering with contractors to build a more reliable, energy-efficient and cost-effective world. A purchase decision today can impact energy use for a decade or more. We help contractors sell more efficient appliances like heat pumps, which could reduce our national emissions by 9%. That’s equivalent to taking 70M cars off the road! We help companies show savings from energy costs and rebates, and we’ve demonstrated a 27% improvement in home services sales conversion. Unifying technicians, homeowners, and utility companies onto a single platform also creates enormous future opportunities to improve and transform the energy grid.

In addition to our passion for our mission, we have a strong business. Since launching in 2024, our products have deployed in 30 states and achieved 3x quarterly revenue growth by partnering with small businesses as well as some of the largest home services brands in the US. Pika’s small but mighty team, with alumni from Asana, Retool, Slack, and Dropbox, combines subject matter expertise, business acumen, and exceptional speed of execution. We are proud to be backed by top investors, including Sequoia Capital, Bling Capital, BoxGroup, and key leaders in the energy and services sector.

This decade is a make-or-break time to fight climate change. Join us – time is of the essence.

Role Description

You’re an expert at making the ambiguous concrete and the complex simple. You have a strong opinion on how to balance “doing it right” with “getting it done.” You enjoy discussing the merits of different architectural patterns as much as you enjoy cranking out great code. You love making your codebase a pleasant place to work, whether that’s by improving tooling and processes or evangelizing best practices. You enjoy code review and mentorship and are always looking for ways to scale your impact.

Does this sound like you?

As a Fullstack Software Tech Engineer at Pika, you’ll be the primary owner of our web and data frontend, API, ETL pipeline, and backend infrastructure. You’ll partner with other fullstack and iOS engineers to design and build scalable software that powers our platform and products. As the third member of our engineering team, you’ll work closely with our founders and play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering culture, product development practices, and company trajectory. This role reports to the Head of Engineering.

  • Proficiency in both frontend and backend development, especially with React and Node.js.
  • Familiarity with Typescript.

  • Willingness to learn fast and work cross-functionally.
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability and belief in our mission.
What We Offer
  • An opportunity to work on a project with significant potential for societal impact.
  • Generous equity stake.
  • A supportive, challenging, and collaborative work environment.

  • Office space with a dedicated desk, and budget for office equipment.
