About the Role

We are building a new, critical safety product designed to protect people in real‑world emergencies. This is a rare opportunity to shape a category‑defining product in a large, stagnant market ready for innovation.

What You’ll Do

• Play a pivotal role in re‑defining this critical product line.
• Build user‑facing experiences and core backend services that power real‑time alerts, notifications, and integrations with external monitoring services.
• Ensure reliability with automated hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing systems.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years building production systems.
• Strong backend experience (Go preferred).
• Experience with AWS or a similar cloud platform.
• Comfortable working across the stack: backend, frontend, and device.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and APIs.
• Startup mindset; able to move fast and iterate with product teams.

Bonus Points

• Experience with embedded systems or IoT.
• Familiarity with HIL testing.
• Experience with real‑time or safety‑critical systems.

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs).
