Job summary

Confidential in New York seeks a Lead/Staff Software Engineer to shape architecture and delivery of our core product. You will own full-stack features, mentor engineers, and drive technical decisions across Python backend services and React/TypeScript UI.

You will collaborate with product and design, establish engineering standards, and contribute to cloud, CI/CD, and deployment practices while exploring AI-assisted tools to raise product quality and engineering effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience across full stack.
• Strong Python backend and API design experience.
• Deep hands-on React and TypeScript experience.
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable full-stack architectures.
• Strong REST API, data modeling, and integration skills.
• Experience with relational databases, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and monitoring.
• Ability to lead technical projects and mentor others.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership mindset and coaching interest.
• Curiosity about AI coding assistants and agentic development tools.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design and delivery of full-stack features across UI and backend.
• Establish architectural patterns and engineering standards.
• Build Python backend APIs and data flows; extend systems.
• Develop polished React/TypeScript user interfaces focusing on usability.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate needs into solutions.
• Lead complex engineering initiatives from planning to deployment.
• Improve reliability via automated tests, monitoring, and debugging.
