Job summary

Motion Recruitment seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build a scalable platform for personal loans, using Node.js, React, and TypeScript. You will own end-to-end features, write clean, tested, and well-documented code, and mentor teammates.

You’ll work with Next.js frontend, NestJS backend, PostgreSQL, Docker and AWS within a microservices architecture, delivering measurable business impact and high-quality software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on with Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Full-stack ownership across frontend and backend.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production monitoring.
• Experience handling regulated data (PII/PIFI) responsibly.

Job description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working on an innovative and scalable platform that originates personal loans. Using your experience in software development to write clean, tested, and well-documented code using Node.js, React, and TypeScript, as well as provide peer code review and mentor other engineers on the team. You will own meaningful product and technical initiatives end to end. Lead by example, setting engineering standards and patterns through your work, not documents. Raise the bar on quality, pragmatism, and speed and bring depth when things get complex and simplicity when they don’t need to be.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with hands-on experience building, shipping, and supporting production software using Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
• You are a true full-stack engineer who owns features end to end across frontend and backend.
• You’re comfortable deep in the code and confident making architectural decisions and tradeoffs.
• Experience owning:
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Automated testing
  • Production monitoring and observability
  • Post-production support and iteration
• Experience handling regulated or sensitive data (PII/PIFI) responsibly and intentionally.
