Job summary

E&M Technologies, Inc. in Alexandria, VA, seeks a TS/SCI with CI poly, U.S. citizen software engineer to build and maintain secure applications across the stack. You’ll collaborate with architects, product owners, and mission stakeholders to deliver reliable software.

The role requires 8+ years in software, 5+ years Python/Java, 4+ years frontend (React/Angular), REST APIs, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD in an Agile environment. DoD clearance capability is required.

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, test, and maintain software capabilities from requirements through production delivery.
• Work across the technology stack and collaborate with other engineers, architects, product owners, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable and maintainable software solutions.
• Participate in technical design discussions, troubleshoot application issues, conduct code reviews, and contribute to improvements in software quality and maintainability.
• Work alongside senior engineers to evaluate technical approaches, learn new tools and technologies, and continuously improve the team's development and delivery practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or additional software engineering experience in lieu of a degree and 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including developing, testing, integrating, or maintaining software applications
• 5+ years of experience developing applications using Python, Java, or another object-oriented programming language
• 4+ years of experience developing web applications using frontend technologies or frameworks, such as React or Angular
• Experience developing or integrating backend services and RESTful APIs
• Experience developing applications using relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, and working with SQL
• Experience working with automated build, test, or CI/CD processes
• Experience working within Agile software development environments using methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
• Experience using software development and task management tools, such as Jira
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have and be capable of maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) clearance at the appropriate level

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing production applications with Python
• Experience developing enterprise web applications
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as CloudFormation
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab, Github Actions, Jenkins)
• Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies
• Experience with automated unit, integration, or end-to-end testing
• Experience with application authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, or observability
• Experience working in DevSecOps software delivery environments
• Experience leading projects and mentoring, teaching junior staff members

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. E&M considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
